This book is incredibly simple on one level and incredibly profound on another level. I do a lot of 12 Step work and Cheri's book on fear parallels some of the writing in the Big Book (the AA "bible") When you have fear you get angry and the anger triggers resentment.

Most people don't even know they are living in fear!/5(46). This is by far my favorite book by Margaret Millar, the Master of mystery writing. In The Fiend, a mystery with a twist, Millar treads a subject matter never discussed lightly and probably never handled so well by another mystery author -- pedophilia.

Be brave. Despite your fear and revulsion you'll be rewarded for your courage/5(7). In other words, Fiend is two books in one, and lets them play off of each other beautifully, letting the horrors be underlined by the selfishness (and self-destructiveness) of the characters, just as the realities of addiction are played out on operatic scale in the background as the world crumbles/5().

Fiend was a book that really surprised me. I was surprised by how much I hated it. While it was definitely a new take on the zombie phenomena, that is truly the only positive thing that can be said about this book.

My main problem was that I had no sympathy whatsoever for these characters. I initially thought Chase had some potential/5(). Firstly I would just like to say that despite the short build the former Universal Champion delivered in Smackdown segments with Bray Wyatt and sold me on the fact that he doesn't fear The Fiend.

Dopefiend is a book that takes you through the every day life of addicts, dealers, theives, prostitutes, and huslters in a city and time that heroin was gaining momentum in the late 's and the 70' book was a great read and for the price it was even finishing it,this book has joined the my top shelf collection of various books Reviews:   Dopefiend is a phenomenal, devastating book.

It's far better than the three novels by Donald Goines that I've read up to this point. Never Die Alone was OK, but was too short and sketchy to have much of an impact, and the first two Kenyatta novels--which Goines wrote under his "Al C.

Clark" pseudonym--read more like black-oriented versions of the "men's adventure" pulps that littered /5(). Dwayne is the direct descendant of Rolando Atasa. This man battled an incredible evil named Lycos.

It doesn’t even matter which way it goes. And through Fear lies Pain, Depression, and the very things that created it.

But can people carry on from fear, can we defeat fear and learn to carry on with are lives or are we all doomed to this undeniable force that would eventually take over are lives, and lead us to are very demise, for whatever the answer may be, one thing is for certain.

Unlike other self-help books on fear, this book is an inspiring, fictional story about a salesman who wakes up to a successful future version of himself.
